I have beenriding for about that long myself. This forum is great and is alot of help. Plus with hubby teaching me Ihope to have it down real soon. I am taking th msf course next month so that will help alot also. Have you taken the msf course yet?

Good luck with your riding.

no, i havent taken the MSF course just yet. Im on a permit right now.

After the bike and cost of gear i just ran a bit short of money. . so without tapping into savings, ill have to wait until next month for the course (i get paid monthly), but im really looking forward to taking it.

Thats to bad you have to wait like me lol. But it is a good course to take. (hubby wont let me continue to ride without it) He has been prepping me for it while we are out. He said we will be going to a parking lot soon to practice the figure 8 and the cones and stuff. hopefully I won't wreck her again LOL

compared to alot of people i have met that havent been driving as long as me, i seem to be a bit ahead of the curve.

I get around fine in traffic, ive already had a few close calls with cars cutting in front of me taking left turns, people backing out of drive ways and parking spots, dogs chasing my bike, and so far my judgement calls have been pretty quick and nicely executed.

I almost feel comfortable enough to say i really dont need the course, but i would just like to take it because i feel ill come out of it a better driver regardless.

I rode dirtbikes alot as a teen, so that has actually helped me alot on the street.

It also helps with the insurance. My insurance company said they would prorate the discount in my insurance after I take the course. Plus once i take it I don't have to take the test at the dmv. And i will learn how to safely and properly avoid those types of situations. Its a good step to make for new riders. Hubby wants to take the experienced rider one just for the brush up. he has been riding since he was 16 and even though I am still a bit nervous about him riding and me riding he is a great rider and i have seen him get out of some bad situations with some pretty slick and safe moves he said he learned in the course. I couldn;t think of anyone better to teach me as well as teh course to back up everything.
