Greetings
Just picked up my new 2005 GSF1200S a few hours ago.Wind blowing around 40mph light rain.Not the best conditions but it was still fun.The torque on this bike is incredible.Stick in 5th and forget about gear changes.I cant wait till she has been run in.

Good stuff Matt.

that's a sweet lookin' bike. One of my managers has an 03 Bandit 1200 in Silver with full Kappa luggage. I was given him a hard time when he finally pulled it out of storage because he only had 9000km on it in two years of riding.

of course, he rarely rides to work, and then only if it's hot and sunny out all day.

That's cool Matt. Good On Ya! It looks sweet in black, too.....

I'm feeling pretty stoked about bike shopping myself..... can't wait till thursday when I load up and hit the bright lights of Edmonchuk to look at the 3 bikes I've got it narrowed down too... untill the new barginfinder/autotrader comes out thursday. I'll be driving, browseing ads and making calls on the drive in, I'm sure.....

I can only imagine how cool it would be to buy a brand new ride, with nothing to check, worry about, or such...... Enjoy the Bandit..... :wink:

Nice Matt!.....and a couple of days ahead of schedule, no? Get those break in miles taken care of and we can go for a ride when the weather improves.

Cheers all.Slight problem though I think something is sticking in Carbs as when I start and blip the throttle she goes straigh to 5000rpm and slowly starts creep.The throttle cable is at the stop Ive checked that.I left a message for the dealership to come and get it.Unless I forgeting something very simple.Any Ideas guys

So it idles up to 5000 right away and then slowly drops idle speed to normal?


:humm: Uhhh..... :light: Hey, that sucks. :confused:

I hear that all new bikes come with a special feature. It's called the 'Make It Work' button, and if you can ever find and press it, you'll have the perfect bike for the life of the machine.

Somebody might have been messing with me too. I'm not sure.....

Maybe it's the idle jets pumping too much fuel at startup, or the choke sticking slightly.

After the wait you had, I would be on that dealer to FIX MY BIKE!!!! , right farkin' now, please.

Congrats, Matt--if your new ride is like the '98 I had, it may buzz a bit , but will smooth out by 5k. Also, if you have an off-idle stumble at all, shim the needles first, and save yourself the cost and trouble of a jet kit.

To me, slow return to idle sounds like a typical slightly lean condition - something newer bike have right off the bat due to emissions. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but if the dealers will check it for you, good on ya. To fix this (after the break-in period) up the pilot jets a notch, or do a stage1 on it (cuz you'll probably want a new K&N air filter in there as well 8)
