After a comprehensive review of their road racing package, Honda Australia are pleased to announce an all new partnership with Pirelli for the supply of their road race team tyres in 2007.

Whilst Honda’s road race team have had an association with Michelin over the past three years that has been highly successful, it is “time for a change” according General Manager, Motorcycles Tony Hinton.

“After a difficult year, we have decided to make some changes and try a new approach,” Hinton explained.

“Pirelli is doing some wonderful things both here in Australia as well as at the World Superbike/Supersport level and we are very much looking forward to being a part of that evolution.”

In fact, Winston Ten Kate Honda rider Sebastien Charpentier recently wrapped up the manufacturer’s fifth straight World Supersport title on board his Pirelli-fitted CBR600RR at Magny Cours, France.

Pirelli has a long history of involvement in motorcycle racing internationally, and the important innovations that they have matured over 90 years in the business have made Pirelli on of the most winning manufacturers in the industry today.

“At the same time as looking forward to a fresh new year, we also wish to acknowledge and thank Michelin for their service over the past three years which included winning two successive Supersport and two Superbike Championship titles in 2004 and 2005,” Hinton said.
