MORE than 100 motorcycles thundered down south-west Victorian roads on the weekend as enthusiasts from across Victoria and interstate converged on Warrnambool.
The riders took part in the 26th consecutive Don Henderson/Dick Donohue Warrnambool Surf Safari.
President of the Warrnambool and District Motorcycle Owner Club, Ian Wallace, said the rally had attracted some of Australia's rarest vintage and classic machines. ``We were absolutely over the moon,'' he said.
Riders enjoyed a route from Warrnambool, out past the Hopkins River and to Mortlake on Saturday.
Yesterday participants took in a few of the sweeping bends the Great Ocean Road has on offer.
Mr Wallace said numbers were up on last year and hoped the trend would continue.
