Hello Everyone!!

#1 Unread post by Philo »

I am an rider in my 40's who is starting back up after about a 25 year sabattical, due to starting a family and lack of finances. You know, the usual stuff. Now the kids are grown, so I decided to get back in the saddle. I took the MSF course 2 weeks ago and bought a Yamaha V-Star 1100 Silverado last week. So far I am just riding it around the neighborhood and on a few country roads until I get used to riding again. After just a few minutes in the saddle I remembered what I had been missing. It's just a great feeling.

There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people and great information on this forum, so I think I'll hang out here periodically. Thanks and see you later.

:welcome2: to the forum! Sounds like a goodsized bike to get used to again! Anyway, have fun, keep the rubber side down, shiny side up, and watch out for cagers!

:welcome:

I spend a full month on the back roads, and I had no experience to start with. You should start to feel comfortable in no time. Congrats and welcome back to riding!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Yes it does feel great to be back riding. I did 190 miles yesterday on some country roads. The weather is perfect right now on the Gulf Coast of Texas. 65 degrees and sunny. I saw a ton of bikes on the road. I am getting more comfortable with every ride I take. It also didn't take long to realize that there are some really scary cagers out there. Stay safe everyone.
