The 14th annual Coast to Coast motorcycle ride is set to roll out this Saturday.

Woodville Lions Club has put on the event each year to raise money for the Square Trust Rescue Helicopter.#paraOrganisers expect between 400 and 500 bikes and bikers to join the convoy, which is to be led by police highway patrols.

Roadsafe Central is a supporter of the event, so the focus is on fun and safety rather than setting a blistering time.

To date the event has given $67,000 to the rescue service.

To join in, show up at Himatangi beach at about 9.30am with a $20 entry fee.

Bikes leave Himatangi at 10.30am and travel through Feilding, Woodville and on to Akitio by 3pm, where spot prizes will be given out.

A lunch is provided at Woodville and many are expected to stay overnight for a party on the east coast.
