A crook who made more than £100,000 a month on eBay, selling stolen motorcycle parts under the heading "look at my bits" was jailed for three years on Friday.

Bradley Dimech, 34, headed an organised gang which made a fortune selling spares on the internet auction site.

Dimech was "known as someone" who could quickly move stolen bike parts after thieves stole high-value machines, usually in the City. But he was caught out by two bikers, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

Richard Tullet suspected Dimech was trying to sell a part from his stolen £4,800 Suzuki on eBay. He and his friend bid for it and met Dimech in a supermarket car park on October 22, paying £320 for the part.

The biker immediately recognised the part from his bike and tipped off police.

When police raided Dimech's flat at Diana Princess of Wales House, Coleridge Road, Romford, they found 11 Sat Nav systems, though only one was definitely stolen.
