Toy run an emotional event
Monday, December 18, 2006 - By Bob Meacham - Chico Enterprise-Record - chicoer.com

As a participant in the Dec. 2, T.J.'s Toys for Tots motorcycle ride, I would like to thank a couple of groups who made it all possible and worthwhile.

Thanks to the law enforcement administration who approved their participation and to the Chico Police Department, Paradise PD, the STARS volunteers, and the California Highway Patrol officers. As usual, the event went off smoothly and safely.

And to the hundreds of you folks who supported us by waving from your driveways, sidewalks, businesses and passing autos, to those holding their small children so they could see. To the elderly gentleman in the wheelchair, and the good ladies from the church who fed us, believe me, behind all the noise, the braids, the leathers and tattoos, there were more than a few misty eyes.

See you next year.
