Sort of a motorcycle....

#1 Unread post by High_Side »

This picture has been floating around the net as a possible Bombardier - Can-Am Trike for the street. The rumors say that it will have a version of the Rotax 60 deg. V-Twin featured in the Aprillia RSV1000. Looks like it could be interesting. The bigger question is if Bombardier intends to re-enter the motorcycle market.....

Maybe it's a front wheel drive and you need a bit of weight to keep the back end down when braking hard??? lol

Actually, "Winding Road" speculated that it was a BMW and that the weights were to simulate a heavy passenger...

The driver is all geared up with tennis shoes on?

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

For all we know those are motorccle specific shoes. If you look through catalogs today there are various styles of motorcycle boots. A lot of them are going to a street/casual look rather than the workboot type.

Grape-vine rumor is that Bombardier renamed their ATV division to Can-Am with an eye on getting back into the motorcycle market. This makes sense when you consider the fact that legislation is reducing the available trail areas for ATVs and when you consider that Bombardier owns Rotax which already sells motorcycle engines to BMW, Aprilia, etc.

The 3-wheeler is reportedly to be using the Rotax 1000 V-Twin. Currently, Can-Am uses the Rotax 800 V-Twin in the Renegade ATV and there is speculation that the same 800 engine will be used for a street motorcyle and that several smaller rotax engines (450, etc.) will be used in dirt-bikes.
