It broke already...

#1 Unread post by BuzZz »

I went for a midnight ride tonight and when I stopped for a smoke, it happened. The FJ broke.... ..... well, sorta. I was deploying the kickstand and felt something whack my boot. The kickstand spring done broke... and M.F'er, is it dark out there when your looking for a black spring in the dirt..... but I found it. One of the hooks on the end decided it was tired and packed it in. So I tied the kickstand up and finished my ride and went home. Once here, I bent a new hook into the end of it(strong bloody springsteel, I tells ya) and put it back on. Works great, the kickstand has a bit more snap to it now and I'm happy again.

So always carry some wire, twine, zip-ties, tape, ect... you never know when it will come in handy.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

I wish my life was a cartoon... at least then I could take an anvil to the head and walk away, hide behind sign posts and eat a whole meal in one gulp... among the other, more entertaining stuff I could dream up....

But really it's more like a bad sit-com crossed with a really horrible soap opera....

I had nothing for supplies on the bike, bad me :whome: but I always have a selection of tools and assorted stuff in my pockets, I can reach in and pull out almost anything...... but money.....

Lastnight I had a roll of wire, a roll of electrical tape and a leatherman-type pliers thing among other junk. Thinking hard about adding a mini maglite :frusty: But that stand wasn't gonna flop around on the way home
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
