Can someone explain the controls?

Hey guys, can you tell me what these buttons/switches control?
the first pic looks fairly simple, signals, headlights, horn...but what is that black lever on the bars?
And the second pic, well I don't know what any of that is...thanks for your help.

Black thing - choke
Other side, bottom starter, top 2 are engine run/kill switches.

Take an MSF class before touching anything on the right.....
