Oil level indicator

#1 Unread post by t_bonee »

Hi all,

Dealing with my first bike here. When you look at the oil level indicator while the bike is running, is it ok for it to be empty? After it had set for a half hour or so it was a little above the 'low' line.

Thanks.

Yes, the oil is busy lubricating all over the insides of the engine. You should see little or no oil in the sight glass. Oil level is usually checked with the bike in a straight up position, as on the center stand, with the ENGINE OFF. If you don't have a center stand, hold the bike up straight or have someone else do it so you can look.
