Me? I'm listening to Dropkick Murphys... which is not all that unusual. So, here's the deal, post up the lyrics of the song yer listening to.

Blackout Tonight
(words by Woody Guthrie, music by Dropkick Murphys)

Gonna Be A Blackout
Gonna nail me a black curtain
Up good an' tight
Gonna do what my air raid man says is right
Gonna pull down the shades
An' turn out my light
There's gonna be a Blackout tonight

'Cause my town is big and my town is bright
My town can work and my town can fight!
So don't strike no light and don't cause a riot
There's gonna be a blackout tonight

Blackout tonight!

(chorus)
Gonna be a Blackout, Blackout tonight
Gonna be a Blackout, gonna be a Blackout
Gonna do what my air raid man says is right
Blackout tonight, pull down the shades and turn out the light

Lights go out all over town and
The air raid warden walks up and down
'Cause it's part of the war, I gotta do it right there's
Gonna be a blackout tonight

(chorus)
Lights go out all over town
And the air raid warden walks up and down
'Cause it's part of the war, I'm gonna do right
There's gonna be a Blackout, Blackout tonight.
We're the first ones to starve
We're the first ones to die
The first ones in line for that pie in the sky
But we're always the last
When the gravy's shared out
For the worker is working when the fat cat's about

mine don't have lyrics, we have our clavinova piano hooked up to my awesome sound system and shelly is playing a really soothing song right now. :sleepy:
otherwise I usually listen to Imogen Heap
cuz that what I'm into

Can't Take it in

Can't close my eyes
They're wide awake
Ev'ry hair on my body
has got a thing for this place
Oh empty my heart
I've got to make room for this feeling
so much bigger than me

It couldn't be any more beautiful - I can't take it in.

Weightless in love...unraveling
For all that's to come
and all that's ever been
We're back to the board
with every shade under the sun
Let's make it a good one

It couldn't be any more beautiful - I can't take it in.

Wow, another Imogen Heap fan? I thought there were only three or four of us! There's something absolutely enchanting about her voice. That and I'm a sucker for most strong female vocalists.

Currently listening to some AC/DC. Earlier, it was some Nightwish (another female vocal lead!).

Have you listened to some of Evanescence's early stuff? As in, pre-Fallen. Before the band became thoroughly formulated by the big record labels, they sounded phenomenal.

Let me know if you have any issues finding anything from their Origins CD or their demo CD... wink wink.

Android Lust "Sin"

you taught me to lie
i taught you to fake it
you asked
me to take it with no explanation
red red wine makes a
stain on your shirt
and i pretend there's no stain at
all

you ask me to dance
i turn you down you
tell me rejection is good for one's heart
and soul
you wanted me to go

i got you to come in time
i
would have burned you
i wanted to fly

you just
wanted to be inside
i could have killed you
it's
a sign of the times
i just don't need you anymore

it's a sin not to want things
I'm starting a petition to cull narrowminded dull people - be afraid Peter, be very afraid....

The Rainmakers - Downstream

Well, me and Mark Twain were having us a ball
Telling each other lies, floating down from Hannibal
With a bottle and a worm and a cane pole
We were fishing for secrets where the catfish crawl

And the Mississippi River's flowing downstream
Meet the Gulf of Mexico somewhere downstream
Meet the Atlantic Ocean somewhere downstream
Gonna meet you in the water somewhere downstream

Well, we picked up Harry Truman floating down from Independence
We said "What about the war?", he said "Good riddance"
We said "What about the Bomb, are you sorry that you did it?"
He said "Pass me that bottle, and mind your own business"

And the Mississippi River's flowing downstream
Meet the Gulf of Mexico somewhere downstream
Meet the Atlantic Ocean somewhere downstream
Gonna meet you in the water somewhere downstream

Well, we're rounding St. Louis and heading for the coast
When we pick up Chuck Berry in a little rowboat
With one oar in the water and one in the air
A lightning rod for a white guitar

And lightning struck once, and lightning struck twice
And I said "If there's a God, He sure ain't nice"
And Chuck said "God is an Indian giver
I don't trust nothing but the Mississippi River"

And the Mississippi River's flowing downstream
Meet the Gulf of Mexico somewhere downstream
Meet the Atlantic Ocean somewhere downstream
Gonna meet you in the water somewhere downstream
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Yes I listen to depressing music:

A Long Way To Nowhere lyrics
Artist: Sentenced
Album: The Funeral Album

Approaching the moment now
A long, hard journey in its end
It's starting to loom right now..
The final round, and then it hits you, it kicks you, it splits you in half

All the toil and all exhaustion
All those times we hated
All the losses, sacrifices
All those things we missed

All the suffering and distortion
"poo poo" we tolerated
All that we abandoned... all for this?

Our scattered hopes fall down
The zeal turns to negligence
The shattered dreams all down
Crumbled around, that's when it shakes you, it quakes you, it breaks you
It jades you, it fades you, degrades you, it laughs!

Enough's enough, too much
It's more than we can take
All those hits we took, persistence was in vain

Enough's enough, too much
It's all that I can say
All down the drain, just bitterness remains

It shakes you, it quakes you, it breaks you, it hates you, desecrates you, it laughs!

All the battles, all the dirt
And victories we tasted
All the tension, all the misery
And all the bliss

All the passion, all the hurt
And all the love we wasted
All the purgatories... all for this?
There's nothing there
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
