Insurance Questions
I called Geico the other day to ask some questions and what I learned was that they want 1 year's payment all at once. Because I am a student I am hoping to find an insurance company that has monthly or something smaller than an entire year so that I can pay off the costs slowly.
So as someone exploring the world or motorcyling I am wondering what insurance everyone has? What company? And what is the payment plan (or whatever it may be called).

I went with American Family. I got a pretty sizable discount since I went with home, car, motorcycle, and snowmobile.
When I shopped for motorcycle insurance, every company wanted a year's worth upfront. I heard rumors that State Farm will do a 6 month policy. I always end up cancelling my motorcycle insurance after it got too cold to ride, so I get half of it back.
Your situation is rather tough being a student. I know how that felt when I was pinching pennies during my college days. Worse case would be an under 25 single male, financing a RR sportbike with a bleminshed driving record. That can run upwards of $2k-$3k a year.

No matter who you go with, I think your best bet is to actually go to an agent and speak with them in person. You'll get a more reliable and, often, cheaper quote.
I have Progressive. I don't know what kind of payment plans they offer because I pay for mine yearly. It's around $165 I think for full comprehensive coverage with additional gear coverage. I can't remember exactly and can't locate my policy at the moment. But, I'm 36, married, no accidents and have both my atv and bike through the same agent. (ATV is $75/yr full coverage.)
