Ordered my new bike today!!!

#1 Unread post by flw »

Ordered and rode my new bike today. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It a '07 Kawa Vulcan 500 LTD. :kicking: Now just have to have the mechanic fix a small carb issue and well be going down the road again.

After a long winter, I really had to think for the first few minutes of riding before it came back to me, from just 4 months ago. Now I just have to decide on a windshield or not ?

:woot: Hope they have ya on the road very soon! Personally, I like my windshield. Small enough to still look "sleek" yet big enough to stop a majority of the bugs, wind, birds, etc.

ID recommend getting a windshield with a quick release, put it on for any distance, and take it off around town. I like mine, but find it doesnt do much for the looks of the bike. I plan of removing it for when Im not planning any trips.

Great chice in bike BTW! nice to see another 500LTD rider around.

Nice, :happybikeday: And as for a windshield, I vote only if you're looking to do longer distances on it... I have one on my bike, but take it off for around town. After a while the wind pushing up against you wears you out. But on the other hand, the wind feels nice and cools you off... Oh, and for reference, I have the Memphis Fats windshield... It's clear at the top, tinted at the bottom, adjustable, and removable by loosening 4 allen bolts... Plus if you ever rattle the allen bolts loose, they send you out new ones for free! Found that out personally, and another friend has had the same experience with them.

Great choice! Enjoy!

I've got a modified Memphis Shades Bladerunner windshield for my 500.
I only use it at the end of the season when the weather gets cold. I guess I like to feel the wind!
I always follow the rules.
The only exception to the rule occurs when I make an exception to the rule not to make an exception to the rule and that only occurs under exceptional circumstances.

A shield is great for trips or when its cold. Other than that its just another piece to clean!

It does get cold enough here that I can't ride for 3 to 4 plus months per year.
