My Kawa 2007 VN500 LTD has plastic (cheap) wings on both sides of the gas tank. If they had used a sticker, it would be easier just to remove it but they upgraded to plastic.
I found a parts break down of the tank but it does not include the wings and how they are attached. For details see http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.co ... 8US%29.asp .
Does anyone know how those are attached and best way to remove them? I don't plan on putting them back on ever as I'd like a simple non kawa design on the tank or even just the same color as rest of the tank (black).
Without the wings there are no markings as to what the bike is. I like the unknown but still good looking theme. Its all black now except for the plastic wings.
Idea's?

Those tank badges are attached with adhesive. Best bet is to use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the badge and release the adhesive. Use rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to clean up any residue left behind.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Words
to get rid of that giant link.
To get rid of the badge, well based on the diagram they'll be stuck on, not mounted. Heat them up, take a piece of dental floss and slide it in behind, pull carefully on it, and it should come right up. Goo gone will take care of the rest.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
