Hello from Cape Breton Island

#1 Unread post by Marilee »

Hello, came across this site a few weeks ago, learned much, laughed lots and decided to join. I am considering myself a newbie to biking again.. after a 20 year break. Just bought a new bike, Honda Shadow Aveo 750, 215 Km on it. Dropped it twice, picked it up both times and kept going.. thank goodness for full face helmets hiding my red face. No harm to the bike or me.. :) So in a nutshell... hi.

Welcome, I'm sure you will enjoy your time spent here.
Have been to your part of the world a couple of times now and hope to return again soon. Great scenery.

:welcome4: and belated :happybikeday:

I plan on being in your neck of the woods next month sometime. Doing the Cabot Trail.

What's a good place for lunch?

Hmm depending on which way you do the cabot trail, personally I like to do it clockwise, so start from Baddeck to Margaree, Cheticamp, Pleasant Bay across to Ingonish.. so by the time you get to Ingonish you will probably be hungry, there are some really nice restaurants there. There is a family Casual restaurant up by the Keltic Lodge.. an amazing place, at least drive up to see it. Coastal Waters in Ingonish..great restaurant and if you cant make it past Pleasant Bay before the Hunger grabs you, make sure you stop at the Rusty Anchor. If I may suggest, please make sure you visit the Fortress of Louisbourg on the east side of the island just outside Sydney.
Some pretty amazing stuff.. take about a half a day to go through. No matter which way you drive the trail, or which highway you take, you will love it here..
