SeaFoam

OMG you know I kept seeing you people swear by this product and that everyone should use it. Finally I bought some (had to do the oil change in my bike and my van so wth I figured might as well get some its only like $4.50/bottle). OMG did it make a difference. My bike last couple days started to act like it wanted to stall just idling. I put that stuff in and id say within 30s no more acting like it was gonna stall. Just plain ol run n gun lol. I put it in the gas and the old oil (figured better get some of that gunk off if I can before doing the oil change). Good thing I did cause I had some blobs come out with the old oil. Yes I did a "jog" around with the bike going through all gears before changing the oil but I changed the vans oil before doing the bikes (which doing that told me why to never go to anyplace to have your oil changed more on that later). Changed the oil and added some more seafoam and its been purring like a kitten ever since. I think my bike loves me now lol.

as a side note to my above statement on changing the oil in my van. I have never had an oil bolt that I had to use two hands and was pulling myself up off the ground (remember im under a minivan that has been raised off the ground with a hydrolic jack and a couple of floor stand jacks in case it falls on me) just to break the bolt loose. Let me tell ya that bolt was a pain in my rear end. It finally broke loose but damn. I weigh 191 lbs so at least 150 of that was used to break that bolt loose. Then I went to the filter. That thing took both my hands and all my strength to turn. I turned it about 1/4" as well before it got loose enough that I could turn it by hand with no "muscle" whatsoever. Just another reason NOT to take your vehicle to the dealer or oil shops to have the oil changed. I only did it because it was under warranty so they cant say "well you didnt do your oil changes". But now I am 200 miles past warranty (60,250 miles). Now I just gotta figure out how to reset the damn "change engine oil" light that comes on when it "thinks" the oil is dirty and needs to be changed.

I currently have it in my gas tank of my cage. It only a I-4 engine with 103,400 miles and seems to idle smoother already. I could be wrong but accelerating hard has less hesitation.

The above could just be my perception and not fact, well see after the end of the tank. I also have not changed the oil since its not due for a couple months yet. If it works even just a little, I'll put some in my oil before a change on the cage.

Not thinking, I threw away the can, does anyone recall how much should be put in your oil before a oil change (calls for 4 qts. and filter) and how long to run with it in as well?

Are you supposed to use seafoam in your oil? I just use ATF which seems to do the trick pretty well

Yup. Half a can is apparently good for your crankcase.

Word of warning though. If you have a small oil leak somewhere, like a small leak in the oil pan gasket of a Civic, for instance, and you put an *entire* can of Seafoam in the oil.... well that stuff is going to smell god-awful once the engine gets warm and you won't get that smell out of the passenger cabin for a while.

Just sayin'.
