What sport bike has the all around best mpg?

#1 Unread post by asldjkls »

I use to be a member on this forum and my name was yngvai or something but it wont let me log in under that.

I was curious on which sport bike has the best gas mileage, sense gas prices wont be going down anytime soon only going up to around 4 dollars.

So i was just curious, sorry if this has been posted before, which I'm sure it has.

That's a loaded question. What class are you talking about? Sport? Cruisers? MX?

Stock bike? Modded? blah blah....difficult question to answer.

high end sport bikes tend to not only get poor mileage but also require premium fuel. I recommend just googling the bike you are curious about, you can find mpg for any bike out there. For example, the latest issue of Motorcyclist reported the Ducati 1098 got 24mpg (a quick google search to verifies that seems to put the 1098 anywhere from 22 to 37mpg)

mid to lower end sport bikes generally get great mileage and only require basic fuel.

For example: My buddy gets about 65mpg on his Ninja 250. I got 55mpg on my Ninja 650. People have reported 75mpg on the 250, but my friend has never even come close to that.

touring sportbikes have decent mpg but the honda style full dressers have great mpg and are built for long rides

My ninja 500 was rolling at 60mpg last fillup.

The sprint st (drool, slobber) gets around 50+ per its owners that i've read.

Uhhh... the ninja 250 would probably have the best milage possible.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
