Hello

#1 Unread post by RVM »

I'm new here. I am hopefully going to be buying my first bike soon. Not sure if I should buy it here in MS or wait until I get to CA (moving in about 8 weeks).

Anyway, hello!

Check the CA regulations. CA bikes have CA specific emissions controls. If you buy a new 49 state model in MS, you may have some trouble getting it registered in CA.

I haven't read the regs in a awhile (particularly since I live in AZ), but I believe that the restriction is applied to 49 state bikes with less than 7500 miles on them.

Just found the link :

BTW - If you're planning on buying a used bike with over 7,500 miles on it, then you don't have to worry about this.

:welcome2:
I always follow the rules.
The only exception to the rule occurs when I make an exception to the rule not to make an exception to the rule and that only occurs under exceptional circumstances.
