V-Star 1100 vs. Boulevard C-50
I'm looking for my first bike. I like the V-Star 1100, it fits well... I also like the C-50, nice fit as well. My question is , for starting out as a rookie biker, which one is preferred ..... any wisdom on this would be greatly appreciated....
my best bud got a c50 for his first bike and it's been great for him. he even rides 2-up with no issues at all.
you probably shouldn't go with anything larger than that (power and/or weight) for a first bike.
you'll learn quicker on something smaller and more forgiving.
i started with a honda shadow ACE 750 and it was a great first bike, although sometimes i wish i started on something smaller like a buell blast and worked my way up...
smaller, less powerful bikes help you build confidence and become a better rider quicker.
also, if you're thinking about a later model vstar, do some research because some of them required expensive valve adjustment and were a pain to change the oil.
