Road Rage

#1 Unread post by matthew5656 »

So i'm riding behind this lady through a construction zone which closed off every lane except for the very left. I surely was not following her too close nor was I riding aggressive in any manner. She was driving kind of slow through the work zone, which I understood and did not bother me, but as soon as the two right lanes opened back up, she got over to the right. Even if I were driving my car, her lane change to the right would lead me to assume that she was letting me pass. But once I picked up speed and started to pass her, she opened her window while on her cell phone and flipped me off as I was going past! I simply just looked at her and laughed, then sped up even more so I could keep a distance from her. If I had been driving my car, I would have done the exact same thing, so maybe she just hated us biker kind...? My bike isn't loud at all, so i'm sure she didn't hear my following while behind her, so her finger gestures sure caught me off guard, and i'm still confused to what caused her drastic agitation.

Some people out there seem so mad at life sometimes! :frusty:

You'll never know why she bugged out. People lose ALL rationality when behind the wheel of a car. Best thing is to do what you did - don't turn it into a pissing match and keep your distance. Or just give an apologetic nod to defuse the irrational anger and move on. And I'm speaking here as one of those irrationally angry cagers. My girflriend wants me to wear my full face helmet in the car just so she doesn't have to hear me spew obscene bile at the other drivers. It's a weird pschological thing that happens when you're in a car, especially when the world is populated by SUCH INEXPLICABLY INCOMPETENT DRIVERS. [pant..pant..shaking  ]

I know EXACTLY what you did... You rode in Colorado, which means that any cager at any time has the right to flip you off for no apparent reason! Happens a lot down here in the Springs too!

I got it! All the clues are there.

Obviously, this woman was on the phone having an argument with her boyfriend/husband, who also happens to ride a bike.

Maybe the headlight reflection in her rearview mirror was shining in her eyes, and since she was TOO BUSY TALKING ON THE *%#$*$ CELL PHONE INSTEAD OF DRIVING SHE COULDN'T ADJUST IT!

Sorry. I hate cell phones. I really really hate cell phones. I have one. I refuse to carry on a conversation on one while in a car. I stop my car, get in the 2 seconds of needed exchange and get off. I do not understand why people MUST DO ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT DRIVE THEIR *#&$^# CAR!

I saw someone eating a bowl of cereal the other day. CEREAL. Why?! You can't get up 15 minutes early to eat?!

I hate this suff, people really do seem to be out just to kill us or anyone else. I face that crap every single day in NJ, you wouldnt believe the obscenities and gestures I get from people that are driving in the oposite direction ect. so there is no way I could have pissed them off. I need to move to where there arent any people, or maybe at least where the people are friendly. Are there still places like that?

Not many.

A new city needs to be created. One where only bikers are allowed! :motorcycle: :rocking:

I can't speak for the rest of Canada, but here, cagers are very well manored towards motorcycles. I've been cut off and merged into more times than I can count in my cage. I haven't had one problem, yet, on my bike.

Once the tourists start arriving next week, that'll change.....
