oh the hostility!!!

#1 Unread post by halouis »

im up in town and and in a parking lot i struck up a real cool conversation with a dude on a mid 70's BMW which was real cool. we yakked for a bit. he's ridden the thing across the US 3 times already. how cool.

anyhow i leave and am heading home. I realize i forgot to put my gloves on. (in my back pack). so i quickly pull into a gas station and stop out of the way of the pumps, but next to a pickup truck.

pull off my back pack to get my gloves and this "O Ring" comes out running and yelling at me to move my bike away from his truck. he worked there. I got my full face on and my bike is idling in neutral, so i cant hear what the guy is saying but I get it. i'd be gone already if he wasn;t carrying on. "Get your BIKE away from my truck!!!" over and over again. Now I'm getting pissed off and using all my will not to get up off the bike and beat this guy into the ground. he was just freakin out! but wouldn;t come close to me. I don't look like a hells angel or anything.

anyway i got my gloves on and took off. glad i kept my cool. wont ever buy gas from that place.
Thanks,
Hal

must not have been the right kind of bike to be near his truck, didnt you know that if non-harley motorcycles get within 10 feet of an american truck, the value drops $3,000 right then and there?

It seems to me that some people have hostility toward riders in general. Ive had a couple of separate instances where I was riding behind someone on a busy street (not tailgating or being a squid or anything, just riding along safely minding my business) and they pulled over to let me pass and shot me a dirty look as I went by. I was like WTF did I do?

Sounds like he had Appalachian fever. Or maybe he was a gov't agent and a spy had left a vibration sensitive bomb under his truck. He may have just saved your life.

I would have told him, in the nicest way possible - to go "fudge" himself. Unless he OWNED the premises, he can't tell you to do "poo poo".

He mighta been haulin a load o shine. Folk get mighty picky bout that.

In all reality, I can't think of anything he could have left in his truck to cause that kinda reaction. Maybe he didnt take his meds.

Go back and get the manager on his arse. It'll be better if he gets fired. Some people in this world deserve no opportunities.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.
