Lucas Confirms Indiana Jones IV

#1 Unread post by totalmotorcycle »

Just when you thought it was over, there is a Part IV!

On another movie note, Star Wars III: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith I just got to see! I wasn't too big a fan of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) or Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002), so I'm PRAYING that III is as good as Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope or Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back or Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983).

My favorite was Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

Ok, that is just TOO many starwars movie titles in one paragraph! LOL.

Lucas Confirms Indiana Jones IV

Indiana Jones IV newsJust got a new update for Indiana Jones IV, which Lucas has now stated is definitely in the works and getting ready to move forward.

Indiana Jones IV from the Lips of Lucas:
The new update for Indy IV came from theindyexperience, who states that George Lucas, during the premiere of that little film known as Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, had a little bit more to say about the current condition of Indiana Jones IV. However, the main reason Lucas mentions Indy is to help get people off of his back about creating more Star Wars films. Here is a sample of the report sent over from theindyexperience:

BBC.co.uk posted a summary of the UK premiere of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith where George Lucas was in attendance. Lucas was quickly met with chants from the audience, demanding three more Star Wars films, but Lucas assured them that there won't be any more films, "It starts when he is 9 years old and ends when he is dead. There is no more story." The crowed then began to boo, but Lucas quickly replied with, "I'm working on the next Indiana Jones." Quite a way to turn around a crowd. So there you have it. Once again, confirmation that Indiana Jones 4 is in the works, and from the mouth of George Lucas himself! Things are definitely looking good folks.

Who do you think will play the part? Harrison Ford was a whole lot younger when he played the role.
Maybe Matthew McConaghy would be good. He was good as Dirk Pitt in Sahara.

.... so I'm PRAYING that III is as good as Star Wars Episode IV

well.. too much is just too much. A 4th Indy will be OK, but those first three Starwars movies were enough for me (you know, circa 1977!!). I am happy i never watched the next 5.. maybe i will watch the last one when it hits the theatre.

Perhaps you could fill the sci-fi hunger with a good book... they seem to have 1000's of star wars titles (and star trek, and....) in the book stores.

Sci fi's not really my thing usually, but I did JUST watch an episode of the latest Doctor Who tonight  it's been about 10 years since i saw my fave classic sci-fi (ooo weee oooo (music) wraaa wraaaa wraaaa (TARDIS sound-effects)... at least 5 or 6 years since i didnt have a tv for the last 5 years... but things change. i notice all this reality tv is very goofy, hacked together, hodge podge of people at their worst.

oh oh.. off topic... here comes the "editor" ;)

He better impress me with Episode III if he wants me to watch his next one. I didn’t even buy Episode I and II and I'm a star wars fan!

I don’t know if Indiana Jones will be the same without Harrison Ford. Sometimes people need to realize that a sequel is not a good idea 90% of the time. It took them three Matrix's to figure out they shoulda quit at number 1.

couldn't agree more, I love episode 4,5,6 and have loved them ever since I can remember and have bought the set on VHS and DVD. But when it comes to the new one ive only seen Ep 1, didnt buy and really couldnt be bothere to spend a dime on the others.

Everybody and their dog seems to think that milking a show for all its worth with sequels is a good idea....its not.

I share the very same viewpoints you mentioned. I REALLY hope that III is good and that if it's not Harrison Ford (he was amazing in the original Indy movies) then I can only hope it's someone as good.

The Matrix was a good series, but you are right the first one was the best. :D

I've never been a big Harrison Ford fan. He just seems like he's playing the same character every time, just wearing a different set of clothes.

But... I really can't picture anyone else playing the part of Indy. Maybe they'll just do him up real good with makeup or something?
