Yamaha Banshee

#1 Unread post by Moped »

I know its an ATV but does anyone know if Yamaha have stopped production of the Banshee? The reason I ask is here in NZ they are running out the 06 model for 3 K less than list.

They do show a 2008 Banshee here in Canada, but not in USA... Pretty cool orange color with black graphics;

I've noticed that Yamaha Canada will import Banshee's one year and then not the next year or two. The Banshee has changed very little since it's intro (in 1987 or thereabouts, other than color) so the '06 model will have very little difference even compared to a 1990 model. The dealer reps have said that there is just enough demand to bringing the Banshee in irregularly.

With the (somewhat underserved) bad name that two-strokes have been given even hard-core 2-stroke manufacturers like Yamaha have been guiding and pushing the move to developing the newer hi-performance 4-stroke engines in watercraft, snowmobile, motocrossers and atv's for the past 5+ years.

The current 4-stroke Yamaha Raptor 700 seems like a pretty wicked machine, but the Banshee has it's niche and as 2-strokes continue to become rarer each year it's more of a "get 'em while you can" situation...

For Sale: Ninja 600 with parts bike, needs minor work, $30, no title... (GEE THAT DOESNT RING ANY WARNING BELLS DOES IT?)
