Hi,
I have not had a bike for 7 years now. I owned a Honda CX650C before and am thinking of returning to biking. I want a sporty bike now, but one that would be comfortable for the occasional touring. I was thinking of the 600-650cc range. The bikes I've read about which I am interested are: YZF600, FZ6, SV650S. The Ninja650R looks great too, but I am looking for a used bike in the price range of $4000 of new. My friend has an older VFR which also is a great bike, but I am not sure if it is too much for me. I am 5'8" and approximately 150lbs, so I need a bike that would be comfortable for a smaller guy. I did the MSF course years ago and was a weekend rider for about 5 years.
Any advice would be appreciate.
Thanks,
Dani

It seems to me, you are on the right track. I think any of the bikes you listed would do you well.
The VFR has a pretty solid amount of power and it is an awesome sport tourer. I have heard it called the gentlemans sport bike.
In my mind maturity plays a lot more into the "power" of a bike, sounds to me like you could handle a VFR.
