LADIES: Men in cars
Ladies - Has anyone else noticed that as soon as you pass a man driving a car (when you're on your bike), they tend to speed up and pass you back?
It's kind of fun to race them for a while...LOL...but really actually quite annoying!

It's never happened that I've passed someone and then they pass me after - they would have to speed up quite a bit to accomplish that. I like to keep a fair distance from cagers. However, if I notice someone checking me out in their side mirror as I'm passing, I might slow up just a bit so they can get a good look. I know it's all about the bike anyhow - it's a mighty mean ridin' machine, and I don't mind showing it off for a few extra seconds. After that... I'm outta there!
Cheers,

The reason why I posted this is because I have seen this from time to time but last night in particular there was on incident that kind of made me chuckle.
Mike & I were traveling in the left lane (Mike out in front this time) and we were just barely traveling faster than the right lane beside us. We were riding at about 75-80 km/hr and the right lane was closer to 70. For blocks and blocks we had been slowly passing cars in the right lane. Then we got close to this one man driving a mini van who -might I add- had a handful of bikes strapped to the back so you know he's a family man. When we were finally passing him, I noticed that he took one look in my direction and then floored it! He must have got up to 90 km/hr just to get out in front. And no, there wasn't any reason for him to do this - it's not like he was following a really slow car that had finally turned off. It seemed as though he really did it because he saw that "a girl on a bike was passing him."
Hmmmmm....Maybe I just overanalyse....???

I have noticed many times that men in newer sportier cars try to race me off the light.
I guess they need to prove they can beat a girl on a sport bike.
I never race back. This is city traffic after all.
But just the fact that I got under their skin by being on the bike means I win.

on the flip side:
i'm a guy and i had a woman in a mustang try to race my honda 750 ACE.
the worst part is, i didn't know she was trying to race me until it was too late...when she jumped on the engine next to me, i jumped on mine and kept up with her, but then somehow i missed the shift and she took off...
nowadays if she stried it against this XL1200 i could miss a shift and STILL beat her handily...
