Hey how's everyone doing
Hey I'm obviously new here so here goes. My name is Jake, I'm 20, and I just picked up a 1980 Honda CB750 Custom off my dad's friend. He bought a few years back for a daily rider but it wouldn't idle so he took the carbs apart and thats about how far he got. So I got it off of him for the great price of free. I put in a new battery and everything works, lights, starter, and the motor turns over. I'm going to work on the carbs next since I just picked up a repair manual today.
To give everyone some history on me I grew up around motorcycles my whole life. My dad rode since he was young along with all his friends. I grew up around bikers. Both my brothers ride and I've been riding dirtbikes since I was like 10 or 11. I love to ride dirtbikes by the way, I like going out everychance I get unfortantly I blew the tranny in that bike and I haven't gotten around to fixen it because of my car. I'm also into cars, I own a 1972 Oldsmobile 442, I've had it for about 2 years but I blew the motor a couple months ago racing, I'm right in the middle of rebuilding the motor right now. I got this bike as something that I can run around cheaply, my other car is nice but uses to much gas for me and is frankly to slow. You can see pictures of my cars here www.cardomain.com/id/psycodiver69
So thats basically it. I have pictures of the bike and as soon as I figure out how to add pictures I'll get them up
Edit: I have pictures up now they are in the picture gallery

Welcome!
Have fun fixing up that Honda. Can't beat free!
You should try to get into the MSF Basic Rider course. They will give you the skills you need to be safe on the road. Your pic link is not working for me, by the way.
We have photo galleries, feel free to post your pics there. You can also post them in your threads by using this site: http://picsplace.to/index.php

I plan on taking the course, I can't see riding on the street being much different than riding on the dirt other than having solid grip on the pavement and instead of dodging trees and rocks I have dodge morons in their SUVs. Oh yea the link should work now

Welcome and congo rats (congrats) on the new bike!
The concept of dirt and street riding are the same but I promise you will only put your foot down once on a turn. At least you got a good starter bike, wait till you see how many people want to start on a Busa or an R1, much less how many people think a 600cc is optimal. That is God's way of making stupid hurt!
Anyway, ride safe!

Welcome aboard! Love the cars!! It's been 12 years or so since I've owned a muscle car, and I really miss that kind of ride. Enjoy your project work on the bike.
Cheers,
