What up everyone, i have a 05 gixxer 1000 and lovin it. Now let me just tell you were i'm comming from. I've been riding dirt bike a qauds since i was young little lad and i've ridding alot of bike's but only one kind of street bike a ninja 250 lol, anyways just about every bike that i have riddin i rode the crap out of them my last dirtbike was a 04 yzf 450 and it took me a few hours to get used to the power after getting off a ttr 125 and i rode that around for a few months or so. Then i sold the bike and went out looking for a street bike and thinking to my self a 600 wouldn't be that much diff then my 450, so i bought my current bike now the gsxr 1000 as a first street bike, Basicly i'm telling you all this because i'm really bord sitting in iraq with a month left too go from a 15 month tour and i wanted to say hello. I wish that i had bought the 600 first but the 1000 only wieghts 10 pounds more and handles about the same just the power is insane and very dangerous but i'm not stupid with it and just like cruising around(sould of bought a harley lol) but to all the new people with no dirt bike or quad expeirence don't get a 1000 please!! and to all that started on a 1000 props to all. peace  [/quote][/b]

Noty really a newbie, just a new user to the forum. :~)

You bought a k5 but got posted to Iraq for the last 14 months? That's unfortuante - get your "O Ring" home in one piece and ride the wheels off that thing...

ok well 2 things, On a dirtbike your offroad no cars, that took awhile but after driving awhile you know what to do and what not to do, the second thing is my 450's power to smilar to the 600 sportbike, just with out the top speed, i've actully beaten a cbr 600 on the 450 just till i hit 70 or so lol
but a sportbike is ment to go fast and turn fast a lot more leaning then a dirt bike lol, but if your someone like me that can get on something and beat the hell out of it like i do, then switching from a big cc's racing dirtbike to a sportbike isn't that hard but keep in mind that if you ride a 250 and then jump on a 450, with those 200 cc's more and how much power you feel then imagine jumping on a sportbike wind traffic "now i'm talking about the new 250f or any new 4 stroke bike, oh keep in mind that i took that safty class and still rode aroung post for a long time before even thinking about getting on I95. Some of you may think that i'm crazy or even stupid for getting a gsxr1000 thats the bike that i wanted and for being a stupid 20 year old thats what i did. And i love it

You make sure you wear all the gear all the time and take it easy there.
