Can the baffle's on a 2005 Suzuki C50 be removed fairly easily? If so, will this improve the sound? I'm not looking for a big difference; just want it to sound a little meaner. Or is the best option to buy new pipes?
Thanks,
Randy/TX

Probably best to spring for an aftermarket set of pipes. Most of the OEM exhausts I've seen cannot be modified without a lot of hassle. I don't know your bike, is it fuel injected? If so, you usually need to remap the chip to accomodate a freer flowing exhaust (you DEFINITELY need to do so if you change the intake system). Most aftermarket pipe manufacturers will advise you to do the same. First and best thing to do, though, is check with your dealer before making any changes that could nullify your warranty.

I agreed with gummiente. I drilled out the baffle on a superglide and they sound metallic, wasn't pleasant. BTW, If someone wants them, they are free, just pay shipping. 1 set of stock slip for an 05 Superglide.

I have an '03 Volusia same as the C-50 except for the fuel injection and front brakes.
I drilled mine out with a big drill bit then used a punch to open them up so there are 8 big holes in each. It was simple and free. Sounds great.
BTW there are several exellent threads at www.volusiariders.com
A great site for the Suzuki clan....
