I posted this about a week ago in "Everything Else" and very few people even looked at it so I assume I put it in the wrong forum. Rather than repost and have duplicte threads I am linking to the original post. Would someone help me please?

You should ask this at http://www.viragotechforum.com/
You'll get better answers. I suspect the answer is that you just have to go buy some Progressive shocks.

The problem with hacks is usually the front forks and not the shocks. The springs are too weak and need to be replaced or a spacer added for more pre-load. (usually 1 to 1-1/2") With that small of bike you may also have shocks that are too weak, but check with the guy who mounted it and make sure that he didn't mean front springs.

jonnythan:
Thanks for the pointer to the VT Forum, looks like a place I will get a lot of use from for my Virago.
slimcolo:
Actually, he mentioned both issues. This is my second sidecar outfit and I had to add a spacer to the forks on the last one too but the rear shocks were OK for that bike (CX500DLX). I know how to beef the front forks, it's just the rear shocks I am looking for help with.
