Not having any experience in the field, I have always liked the look of the BMW F 650 GS Dakar.

It depends on how adventurous you are. If you want to get way off the beaten path the BMWs would probably work best, followed by the 650 and 1000cc Strom. The KTM 990 would best any of them off-road, I think. Same for the KLR650.

Tiger 1050 or Stelvio.

Duke's too fiddly. Rides good, alien looks. Need a new pic.

I voted other, for a couple reasons:

1. I haven't ridden any of the bikes you have listed, so I don't know if they would be suitable for me.

2. You haven't listed several bikes that I would like to have, so here they are:

BMW F650GS
BMW F800GS
BMW R1100GS
BMW R1150GS
Honda Africa Twin
Honda Transalp
Kawasaki KLR650 (not a bad bike for adventure touring - my current ride)
Kawasaki KLE500
Kawasaki KLE650 Versys
Buell Ulysses
Ducati Multistrada

I'm sure there are a few more out there available overseas, but I don't have my copy of What BIKE handy.
