Breaking up is hard to do

#1 Unread post by High_Side »

We had been together for 11 great years and tonight it all came to an end. The one that made me settle down, but still allow me to get crazy now and then is moving out on Thursday. Tough times lay ahead. I'm going to miss her like I've missed no other.

This has truely been an awesome bike. I had a deposit on one after they were first announced in '97 and I had one of the first ones on the street. We've been through track-days, touring, and the most effortless wheelies this side of a CR480. An extremely underated bike due to it's lack of outright h.p. to please the squidlies.

I listed it on Kijiji 6 weeks ago not really thinking it would really happen. Then a guy phoned and wanted to look at it. Within the first 2 minutes of looking at it he told me he would pay asking price without even trying to deal on the price. He had looked at 6 VTRs, with the one the day before having 1/5 the mileage. This was in the best shape of any by far. Keeping them in good shape pays off. I hope he is as good to her as she will be to him!

Hopefully I'm not still coming of the rebound at the motorcycle show in January :P

The RC was in the plan WAY back in the day, but then I sat on one and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. For all of the good it had I just couldn't imagine riding it to Wyoming. They are a cool track toy though

So they showed up a night early to take her away. :( It was the hardest thing to see ride away in a truck that I have ever sold. Bummer.

This is one of those times when you don't mind if your best friend rides your ex and in many cases, encourage it.
Friends help you move. Real friends help you move bodies.

Looks like you have others, I only have one but before I let her go I will have another one first. She is getting older so I am starting to look around myself.

Disclaimer: If my wife reads this I best make sure she knows I am talking about my bike.
