Ohio riding season?
When does the riding season start in Ohio? Moving there soon and want to know how long my bike will have to sit in the garage?

Oh boy... the Ohio riding season... what a good question!
Last year we were riding well into December. This year? Only once for me this January.
If you don't mind the cold you can ride all season long if there's no snow on the ground. Ohio has some pretty funky weather and most of the time it's totally different throughout the state.
Hope I didn't confuse you more!
My bike usually sits for 3-4 months in the winter...

It really does depend on which part of the State in which you'll be living. And what day of the week! Also depends on what type of rider you are. I'll ride as long as the roads are free of ice and/or salt, and as long as it's around 40 degrees or warmer. If for nothing else than to get the spider webs out of my head. But last Monday it was 60 degrees, so I made sure that I had time to ride for a couple of hours - it was great!
Usually though, January is very limited, February is almost a no-go, and March is sketchy as well.
I don't have a garage, so I keep my bike under a cover and ready to ride. If I had a garage, I might be more tempted to winterize it, but man, I really do love the occasional ride in the winter.
The "Ohio" page here is somewhat active. Keep in touch with us there - we try to get together for some rides when the weather is more dependable (May through October).
Cheers,
Loonette
