Motorcycle race for newcomers

Madras Motor Sports Club, as part of its golden jubilee year celebrations, and with the objective of promoting fresh talent and unearthing new talent, is organising a Race Meet for bikes at the MMST track in Irrungattukottai, near Sriperumbudur on 20 March.

As this event will only be for newcomers all experienced teams and riders will not be allowed to participate in this meet, a press release here said. This is the second race being held this season to promote fresh talent.

The races will be run in the following categories Mopeds (one race of 3 laps); scooters (one race of 3 laps). Motorcycles: Category - Group B

80 cc to 110 cc (4-stroke), two races of 5 laps each; 110 cc to 160 cc (4-stroke), two races of 5 laps each; 160 cc to 180 cc (4-stroke), two races of 5 laps each; above 180 cc (4-stroke), two races of 5 laps each;

80 cc to 110 cc (2-stroke) two races of 5 laps each; 110 cc to 160 cc (2- stroke), two races of 5 laps each.

Category - Group A: Upto 250 cc (2 or 4-stroke) two races of 5 laps each; TVS Race-a-bike scheme Victor category, two races of 5 laps each; Fiero category, two races of 5 laps each.

TVS Victor and TVS Fiero would be available for racing purposes on payment of the entry fee. Entry fee is Rs 250 per race.
