I attended the 2006 conference. ALL the major makes where there with free demo rides (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Harley, Kymco, Ducati, BMW), there were amazing classes in self-defense, iron butt rallies, first aid, and political action for motorcyclists, and WOW the partying!
Try to work it in, ladies...and if your SO has no

YAY!!! But, hmmm. That's on the other side of the country from me. Gonna require a LOT of days off to ride there, beyond the event days.
Will have to see...
Just had a look at my map software. 1741 miles!! One way. Just get on Interstate 70 and head west.
My personal comfort level is about 400-500 miles MAX per day. So to ride will take at least 4-5 days each way.
On one hand, I can certainly get me my Saddle Sore 1000 certificate (maybe a Bun-Burner 1500) one direction or the other.

Okay. Made a call to Keystone Resort. The event is going to be at the main facility: "Keystone Resort" at Lakeside Village (6 "villages" in Keystone).
Basic Resort Room rate is $188/night at The Resort, The Inn at Keystone is $122/night.
Now... They don't have the rate set for Aug '09 yet, but at this year's rate, the cost is $190/person for FIVE NIGHTS in a 3-4 bedroom condo with 2 per room +2 on the sleep sofa. Even when you add in food/dining its still a good deal.
We've got a few brave souls considering making the trek from the east coast... Just get on I-70 and ride west.
So, anybody else considering?

Just miles and miles of highway. Even here in MD 70 is pretty featureless. I hear that west of St. Louis it gets positively suicidally boring because there aren't hills or curves to break up the endless ribbon.blues2cruise wrote: What is wrong with I-70?
I sat down and did some figuring: 4, 400+ mile days. About 2 1/2 tanks of gas per day.
