Been here, left, back now... :)

#1 Unread post by ShawnKing »

Hi all! My name is Shawn King and I've been riding for a little over 2 years (and 30,000 miles). I previously owned (and was involved in this board with) an '05 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe and, after a minor accident, the insurance company said, "Why don't you go buy yourself a new bike?"

The nice guys at Danbury (CT) Powersports were kind enough to let me take a brand new FJR off their hands. For only a few (hundred) dollars, they even gave me a new Arai helmet, too. :)

I picked it up on Wednesday afternoon and have been walking around with a big stupid grin on my face ever since. Can't wait for this weather to lift so I can get back on it! I've posted some pics on Flickr if anyone wants to see the bike.

I look forward to learning all about my new bike from you guys and in learning how to ride a sport tourer - it's a *completely* different ride than on my big fat cruiser. :)

You're welcome! I'd be even happier if I was "back home" in Vancouver with it. :)

What's keeping you away?

By the way...The Arkansas Hell's Angels comic is very funny.

I make a *lot* more money here than I did there. :)

Actually discussing with the wife where we'll go next - toss up between San Francisco, CA and Vancouver, BC. :)

Can you explain cameracon for me?

I am interested in photography. I belong to a club and I have a Flickr site....

If you are a professional photographer, you will probably do better in San Francisco. My understanding is that it is difficult to ake good $$$ here as a photographer.
