Hello Everyone,
I've posted some others topics, for help. So my question now is: My used 99 Honda Shadow Vt600, needs a speedo cable. I bought a universal speedo cable, but I apparently need another cable to cover it. Is there a specific cable "housing" i should use?
Thanks
Dan

why do you need another cable to cover it?

It looks to me like you bought one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universa ... enameZWDVW
which is the inner cable by its self. If you have the old cable, you can pull the inner cable out of it and put the new one in.... or buy a new one... I've gotten cables from
http://www.z1enterprises.com or from
http://www.motionpro.com/search/motorcy ... nt_cables/
Both should have cables for your specific bike!

I forgot to mention: the bike that I bought, has 6 in" longer forks, so the original cable wouldnt reach. So I bought the universal inner cable, but I need the outer cable that would screw in to the speedometer itself and it screws in to a part by the front tire.
I went to a Honda dealership and they told me that i would have to find a place that would make a custom cable.
Thanks

Thanks for the advice, I actually bought a factory cable from Honda, which is to short, and I had previously bought a universal speedo cable (insider) and kind of spliced the outer cable and used another cable to cover the open spot ----- of the cable.
It works but I am not going to keep it like it is, unless maybe i used zipties, to keep the outer parts of the cable together....
Overall---kinda junky looking and I don't really like it!
So I am going to check out motionpro, but any other suggestions...post them please!
Thnks
Dan
