As we all know, Mother Nature is a cruel and harsh mistress.
The most classic example of this is a gigantic rainstorm brewing the minute you get done washing your bike (or cage, or whatever).
I, for my part, had just finished wiping the bug guts off my windshield from a few days worth of riding. I'd decided to run up to the store and back, when I noticed a perculiarly large bug splatter against my face shield. I had seen him coming and, as it happened, I could see a few more large bugs cruising to the death with myself- up close and personal. One wasn't too bad. Five was worth thinking about. But no, oh no... This continued on for about a mile. Many bugs. So many bugs, in fact, that I felt dirty. There was some kind of swarm -Something!- that had come out over the road. I'll probably even find impact craters on my bike when I go to wash it.
By the time I got home, I had so many bug splatters that I had to duck below the windshield because my visibility through my helmet was becoming hazardously low. Even my jeans, after getting off the bike, had thick and obvious signs of many a bug-splatter. The windshield is covered in 'em. Even worse than riding a whole week without washing it (and in the backroads of Michigan, land of the deciduous forest, that's no small thing).
So what's your story?
How did Mother Nature give you the shaft?
Take the day off work, only to have the worst tornado season of the year?
Ride 5,000 km to see an attraction that was closed due to flooding?
Fall in love with a helmet-law activist? (;))
Let the irony posting begin!
