I have a I have a 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 the shifter is messed up some when I try to down shift the shifter petal just falls down to my exhaust pips the stud is not rounded off the hole thing is turning some when I try to down shift the shifter petal just falls down to my exhaust pips the stud is not rounded off the hole thing is turning

Sorry to say, but you have to go into the motor on this one. On the end of the shift drum the gears that your shifter shaft are hooking to either broke or came loose.
