Alright, so I'm 20 years old and I'm looking to buy my first motorcycle.
One motorcycle I have been eye balling is a black 2000 Suzuki Marauder VZ800. Would this be a good first motorcycle or is there one that would be better.
My spending cap is about $3,000. And to be picky, I do not like dirt bike-esque motorcycles. Mainly cruisers and sports.
Thank you for any help.

Hey bud, I started at 20 on the Suzuki Volusia VL800. Great bike for me to start on, but I'm a pretty big guy so weight of the bike wasn't really an issue either. (I'm about 6'2 and 290 at the time)
But yeah, I learned on it, put over 3K on it in the Colorado winter before I had to sell it, gave me a good basis to learn how to ride on everything else too!

First off, welcome!
As always I'm a large proponent of the Kawasaki Ninja 250. You didn't give your approx height/weight but I'm 6'0" and about 170 and it holds me like a champ. Gets fantastic millage, handles like a dream, and not enough power to get you into too much trouble.
Plus a ton of people like them as a first bike so they're easy to find and they hold their value quite well.

We had a VZ800 once upon a time, an '04. It's probably a do-able first bike, the power-to-weight ratio is pretty mild and it won't run away from you. Center of gravity is pretty low, that's good.
