So I plan on renting a Harley next week when I finish my meetings in SanDiego and need some suggestios on where to ride in the time given. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Cheers,

It has been awhile since I lived there but ...

Mountains around Julian are a fun ride. 79 north from I8.
South of I8 is Clay Lakes Rd. if you want to keep going plenty of hills and winding roads, my brother in-law lives down that way ... bring map or gps :D

Have fun, and remember to take plenty of pictures for us forum members who are stuck in dreadful weather.

I was going to suggest the area around Idelwylde (or however its spelled), get off I8 at Ocotillo and head north from there into the mountains. Lots of winding roads all over that area, you can loop that route most of the way back to san diego or head north towards palm springs. Make sure you have appropriate documentation, there are several Border Patrol checkpoints in that area.

Thanks guys, but the trip is complete and the Harley chrome has been randomly distributed around various bends in the road around southern California. I had a great time and plan on putting something in the old blog soon.

Cheers,
