Need tag/title help!!!!!!

OK...I, myself, do not own a bike...I am doing some research for my boyfriend...ok...here is my question: In Tennessee can I get a tag for a bike with a salvage title?...This bike is on its way to being restored. He bought it in boxes and put it together to learn about bikes and such...but anyways...if someone could help me I would seriously appreciate it. We are just trying to figure out if it'll even be worth putting money into to get it running...if we cant get a tag, theres really no point in fooling with it. Does anyone know or can refer me to a website?

Only the department of motor vehicles in Tennessee can accurately answer this question for you. Salvaged vehicles are in a strange class all their own, and you'll probably have to telephone the DMV and ask your specific questions. I believe, typically, you'd have to bring in the "salvaged" paperwork and then have the vehicle (motorcycle) go through an inspection to make sure that it holds up to modern standards for function and safety. But again, you would have to ask your DMV. Good luck.
