No power at full throttle in tall gears 1984 V30 magna

#1 Unread post by bran87 »

hey guys I reacently had my bike in the shop to have the carbs cleaned and synced, but when i rode home the bike no longer had power past about half throttle. Ive checked the main jets, air filter, spark plugs, fuel pump, the diaphrams and battery, all were clean and working right. I'm desperate for any sesgestions
thanks Brandon

sounds to me like you didn't check all the jets that well. I'd take it right back to the shop and ask them to honor their work.

I would take it back and have it re-checked but the shop went out of business i've tried other shops but no one around here will work on a bike that old. Is there a specific jet i should try and clean I know its not the main jet i took them out and i can see through all of them

took off the carbs today and sprayed carb cleaner through all the jet and put it back together the bike runs the same is there some thing i'm missing. I'm almost sure its the carbs because they are the only things that has been messed with. Could the sync have been done badly?

This post is very old--but will try to find out how you solved this problem--I have the same issue with my 84 v30 vf500c bike and as of now it is not solved--but I suspect the sync and or float levels---waiting for a float tool to arrive and am going to syn carbs with vac guage--my manometer is so old I don't trust it--last time I tried to sync carbs it showed 3 carbs almost perfect with each other with the unadjustable carb (#4?) and the last carb was almost to the top--and would not come down after closing the adjusting screw all the way in. go figure???
