bike that chokes and stalls

i have the ninja 250r, i took it out and got as far as 8 houses down and the bike choked and died on me, all i get is the oil change light and temperature light on it, the headlight doesnt work, i cant shift into neutral and no matter what throttle, kill switch, clutch holding i do the bike wont turn on...

whats the possible causes and how can i get it to start back up or do i need to bring it to a shop to get fixed, if so how much does it usually cost?

First off don't panic. By now I hope you pushed the bike home. Do you have it on the side stand? Is it in neutral? Is the switch on the right handlebar set to RUN? OK now put the key in the ignition, turn the bike on and try to start it.
