Good deal ?? 1998 Yamaha YZF 600R

#1 Unread post by Suspower »

Hi guys,

Im new to riding and found this deal online, i was wondering if it's worth it even though i wont have my full license until May 2010. The guy is willing to part with it for 2500$ Canadien and it is in perfect condition with 11,000 Km on it. There is barley a scratch on it.

He is also willing to store it for me all winter. Should i jump on this or wait for a better deal ?

Lemme know guys !

It does sound like a great deal but I'd have reservations.

After its yours and he's storing it will he take as much care of your bike? Will they still be riding it? I'm just naturally suspicious.

At the least I'd take pictures and get documents, insurance.

I'm the suspicous type too. Have it checked out, look ALL over for scratches, especially under what could be replaced plastic.

Then if you buy it, take it home. Don't leave it with some stranger who won't love it as much as you.

Besides, it'll be incentive to keep improving so you'll be able to handle it when the time comes. ;)

BTW... For those living close to Quebec, people will sell their racer for almost nothing... Gov has raised the license plate fees to something around 1400$ a year for sport bikes so you can check the used ads on internet to find a decent and cheap racer.
