03 VStar 650

#1 Unread post by jahjlh »

I have this metal bib sticking out of the side of both cylinders on my VStart 650. One's on the back left and the other is front right. I looked at an 1100 and it had the same thing but with chrome pipes attached and linking both to something toward the bike. Maybe it's some kind of emissions thing.

Mine has this weird looking plug clamped on it and it appears to be filled with charcoal.

It's leaking oil from the back cylinder a little and I want to try to re-seal it. Does anyone know anything about this? The manual doesn't touch on it at all.
Jesus died for you. Will you accept that?

what ur referring to might be the AIS or air induction system.
Its used to burn off unused gas that might pollute the environment...though i am not exactly sure what you are describing.
On a side note, you mentioned its on your cylinders...so i now doubt thats what we are talking about
any photos?
