Whoever had it messed it up pretty good, now when I try to start it the main power that goes into the fuse panel is melting the prongs that hold the fuse in place into the plastic. I've went through it 6 or 7 times and still can't find the problem even with the wiring diagram. Any suggestions?

To start check the fuse panel. If any connections are loose or corroded they will heat up.

Then you are down to tracing every wire to find any bare wire or rubbed spots. 30 years of
use / viabration takes a toll on the wiring.
