I am looking to put some saddlebags on my sportster, I got a set of bags with it when I bought it but they look and feel really cheap. The upper flap doesn't cover the bag completly and leaves a small gap. Plus they have all kinds of chrome rivets and buttons on them, they just aren't what I am looking for. Does anybody know where I can find some good quality saddlebags for cheap? I also plan on using the ghost brackets, any thoughts on this product? As for the bag I am looking for a mid-sized bag, not one of those bags that I can live out of, remember I only have a sportster.
Thanks for the help.
I have been searching all over the internet and I can't seem to find bags that are the size I want. I looked at the website for easy brackets, they say the brackets will only work on bags 11-14", I can't seem to find any bags that are 14". I don't want to go to large, but I want to be able to put some things in it when I go on short trips. Any ideas??
Alright, I think I found the bags I am going to get. I just have a few questions, these bags say synthetic leather is that just as good? These bags will not be on the bike at all times just for long trips. These are the bags I was looking at.
Does anybody have any experience with Saddlemen products? Are they any good? I know you get what you pay for but these are cheap and they have the hard plastic back so I can use the easy brackets. I appreciate the help.

I don't know if this is of any concern to you or not, but throw over bags can wear on your paint where they are constantly rubbing against it.
I was at the motorcycle shop looking at bags because I also want to get a set. I saw a nice set of throw over bags but the salesguy recommended the kind that lock on so as not to ruin the paint.
If you do go for the throw over type like in the link you provided, maybe a piece of felt under the strap would help prevent paint wear.
Thanks for the info, I did order the bags in the previous link. However I also ordered some easy brackets so the bags won't actually be used as throwovers. I wasn't planning on keeping them on the bike at all times so the easy brackets seemed like a good idea.
I've been looking for bags for my sportster as well. The ones you ordered look pretty good, let me know how they work out for you when you get them. Also, can you provide a link to the easy brackets you ordered.
