One more try

#1 Unread post by Kingshead »

Upon arrival here the site looked more active but looks can be deceiving. Posted about 70 times the very first day with very little activity so far, some completely inactive. This is not meant as a derogatory comment on the members, staff, or the site in general, just commenting on a fact. I'm posting again in hopes the site has just been quiet for a few days and will pick up a little steam and not from just the staff here. Again, this is not a comment on the validity of the forum.

Sorry, what's your point?
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Martin, I would comment but I don't count being a mod.

Oops, did I say that in my out loud voice.

:kicking:
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

My point was and is: I started a thread here that showed a glimmer of activity and the respondent was invited to leave and the thread was locked. I find this strange from a forum which seems so quiet. The staff here through PM's have expressed an interest in my continued visits and I thought it only fair to acquiesce.

I agree that the forum is not as active as would be nice, but what are you going to do? I've been on forums before where you cannot even keep up with the threads you have participated in they are so busy, that becomes a true nuisance- way worse!

I agree it can sometimes be, but I don't join forums to talk to myself or have my ideas censored. I do understand censoring the language for the minors visiting the forum. I'll continue visiting as it's obvious there are good people here, and it's always nice hearing other riders experiences.

We'll I will be the one to say it I guess. I have no idea what threads you are referring to, and I would prefer you stay because more members is always a good thing... but come on man... this entire thread has basically been one big "You guys should be happy to have me," and I say this being a new guy as well, that is not the right attitude for an old member, let alone a new one!

They should appreciate every member and not invite long standing members to vacate for just expressing their point of view on a topic. The staff have the ability to delete comments if they feel them offensive to minors that may visit the forum. Instead they chose to lock the thread and refuse to allow any of the other members to comment as they saw fit. This has the odor of censorship for free thinking individuals.

The above mentioned thread is titled "I thought bikers were supposed to be tough". It was only a comment on sites not allowing debates due to some crying home to momma and resulting in the banning of members. I was hoping this would not be the case here but apparently to no avail as the locking proves. This is why I reluctantly agreed to stay and give it "one more try" at the staffs request. I felt it best to make my point of view clear from the beginning so there would not be any misunderstanding how I felt on this topic.
